What is FlexiNail?

FlexiNail's range of natural nail care products is impressive, but its primary conditioner is truly unique. Unlike chemical nail hardeners containing formaldehyde and toluene, FlexiNail conditioner does not leave your nails hard and dry. Instead, it helps break the cycle of nail damage, though it may not provide instant results. While achieving strong and attractive natural nails may take some time, once you've established a proper nail care routine with FlexiNail, maintaining healthy nails becomes a breeze.

Nails require the correct amount of moisture to remain strong and healthy. Excessive moisture can leave them weak, while too little moisture can make them brittle and prone to cracking. The ideal level of moisture for nails is one that allows for a degree of flexibility, which is precisely what FlexiNail helps achieve. By penetrating the nail and bolstering its natural protective system, which is often weakened by everyday environmental factors, FlexiNail provides an effective solution for maintaining the ideal moisture balance in your nails.

How do I apply FlexiNail conditioner?

FlexiNail does NOT involve applying fake nails or a polish. It takes about 25 seconds to apply. You brush on a really quick application. You don’t need to be careful applying it and if you get some on the cuticle it is NOT a problem. After you apply it please let it sit on your nails for several minutes or longer. If you are applying it before reading or watching TV – then let it sit on your nail for a full half hour.  When you want the excess oil off your nails, don't rub it in as it will just absorb into the cuticles, instead take a tissue and dab off the excess.

Do I have to "remove" FlexiNail before reapplying?

FlexiNail will not harden or dry on the nail. Some will penetrate your nail with each application but when you want them completely dry, simply dab away any excess with a tissue.  There is no need to TRY to wash off FlexiNail or remove anything. At some point you will obviously wash your hands or shower etc - but don't purposely wash it off.

I am brand new to FlexiNail. What do you recommend?

At a minimum you will want the FlexiNail fingernail conditioner with the FlexiNail cuticle conditioner.  We have a detailed page that will help you if you are new to FlexiNail.  It discusses nail care, basic FlexiNail products and the potential use and benefits of using a biotin / collagen dietary supplement. This page can be found by clicking HERE.

Can I use polish / clear coat with FlexiNail?

When STARTING out with FlexiNail we really hope that you will use nothing else at all on your nails for the first couple of months. This will help break the cycle of your damaged nails and get them in good shape much faster. AFTER your nails are in great shape and you want to show them off – then by all means use polish.

When reintroducing polish, make changes to your nail routine slowly at first and see how your nails respond. It is also important to NOT make frequent nail polish changes. When you take the polish off please try and go several days or a week before reapplying any polish. During these break days make sure to apply FlexiNail once or twice a day.

Remember that acetone is awful for your nails. Yes, it takes the polish off but it also strips all the protective coating out of your nails as well. Even if you are using our less harsh soy based nail polish remover it is still important to make less frequent nail polish changes.

When you are ready to use polish again, there is much more information HERE - as well as information about our MicroPore line of porous nail polish and our SOY based (non-acetone) nail polish remover.

Does FlexiNail help with ridges?

Nail ridges have an important distinction… if they run in the same direction that your nails grows (from the half moon area to the end of the nail) then these are normal ridges that almost everyone has and FlexiNail will help in a secondary way. These ridges can get much more noticeable as we age or if our nails are in a dried out state. FlexiNail will help your nail get back to a better “moisture” level and therefore these ridges become much less noticeable and less likely to crack at these points as well. IF your ridges run across your nail (from baby finger to thumb) then you should consider having a health professional look at these as they could be an indication of certain health conditions.

How long should I use FlexiNail?

Nail problems are usually the result of one of three issues:
  • A one time event like fake nail removal or
  • Environmental issues (nail polish, polish remover, hand sanitizer, weather, humidity, exposure to water etc) or
  • A dietary deficiency or medical condition

If your nails are in rough shape because of a one time event like removing fake nails – you may just need to break the cycle of nail damage once and you are done. You may need to think back to before you applied the artificial nail system in the first place though to try to remember if you nails were ever in great shape to begin with (what caused you to try artificial nails?).

For many other people with ongoing brittle, cracking, weak or peeling nails it is likely the result of environmental factors such as: frequent use of nail polish and acetone polish remover; a cold dry or hot dry environment; frequent use of hand sanitizer; excessive exposure to water (long baths, dishes, hand washing, swimming) or just other events that are hard on your nails. If issues like this have caused your nail problems then FlexiNail will help break that cycle and get your nails back in shape.  BUT unless you also change the things that caused the nail problems, your nails will most likely become damaged again.  Many of our customers after breaking the initial cycle and getting their nails in shape make a 25 second a day application of FlexiNail a part of their daily routine.
